Energy Saving EDD

EDD Eco Drive Destroyer

Since launching EDD, our Eco Drive Destroyer back in April this year we have manually destroyed over 6000 hard drives using the device. EDD does not use electricity, instead it is powered by a hand operated pump. We have calculated the amount of electricity and emissions saved in destroying the drives with EDD and it equates to the following;

240,000 Watt hours of electricity.
5760 lbs of CO2 emissions.
10.02 lbs of sulphur dioxide.
16.7 Oxides of nitrogen.
2160 Gallons of waste water emissions from a power plant.

This proves our hard drive crusher is indeed an Eco Drive Destroyer and will continue to save power and emissions with every drive we crush. After all, these savings are only in the last 4 months, we aim to dramatically increase this over the year.

Pure Planet Recycling continually look to improve business operations and reduce any environmental impact they may have. We will continue to report how much energy and emissions we have saved in the future.
