EDD In Action

EDD Eco Drive Destroyer

EDD, our Eco Drive Destroyer got to work this week on the single largest hard drive crushing job completed to date, by Pure Planet Recycling. Two of our trained staff, along with EDD, were sent to London, to crush 1,052 hard drives on site. The customer, a well known hosting company, had decommissioned old server equipment and the redundant hard drives needing destroying on site prior to recycling. After an initial discussion and seeing EDD in our hard drive crushing video , the customer booked EDD and the man power to operate him.

Once EDD had crushed the drives, they were transported back to Pure Planet Recycling for the materials to be recovered. As with all recycling loads, duty of care waste paperwork was provided along with a data destruction certificate, to certify the work.

EDD makes light work of any hard drive crushing job, and this particular example shows that it is capable of taking on many drives. The main benefit of EDD vs other hard drive crushers is the fact EDD operates with man power only, no need for electricity, making this a much more environmentally friendly solution for destroying hard drives.
