Computer Recycling and Disposal in London

Pure Planet Recycling provide a computer recycling service in London. We collect from Businesses, Councils, Schools and Universities. As an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), we recycle all types of computer hardware.

You can dispose of all types of computers, laptops, PCs, servers and also peripherals. We do not need the equipment to be working or of a certain age or specification. We also recycle all types of electrical equipment found in an office.

Using our own trained staff and vehicles, we collect from all over London. We operate 3.5 tonne vehicles so we can easily park and load our vehicles in the Capital. So whether you have a large or small amount, we can meet your needs.

At our recycling facility we remove all hard drives and storage devices to destroy the data held on them. If the equipment can be reused, we test it thoroughly. If any equipment is beyond repair or too old, we recycle it. The process separates the components of a computer for their materials.

Our procedures ensure we recycle your equipment without the risk of data breach.

How Does Our Computer Recycling Service Work?

Our computer recycling is a simple, step-by-step process:

Step 1

You contact us detailing the computer waste you have for disposal. Please also provide the collection address and if there are any access restrictions.

STEP 2

We provide you with a quotation for the collection and recycling of your redundant equipment. We will send a 2 person team to safely load your equipment.

STEP 3

We arrange to collect the equipment at a convenient time, using our own secure transportation. We’ll even call you when en-route so you know to expect us.

STEP 4

We load the equipment into our vehicles and provide duty of care waste notes. This provides a traceable route for the waste.

STEP 5

Any computers that could have a second life are reused. Non working equipment is stripped for their materials.

STEP 6

Once the recycling is complete we issue a recycling report and data destruction certificate if required.

We take data security very seriously when recycling your computers. A full data destruction service is provided as standard. This includes the removal and the shredding of the hard drives. We prefer a physical destruction method to ensure the data can not be recovered. More information can be found on our data destruction service page.

How Is A Computer Recycled?

We inspect each computer to see if it can be reused. Can we refurbish the PC to have a second life elsewhere?

We remove all hard drives from the computers to destroy the data held on them. Hard drives are then shredding to 15mm particles using our media shredder.

If you need a detailed recycling report we scan serial numbers of each system at this stage. This is then transferred onto the recycling/destruction certificate.

Could any part help repair another machine? If so we will dismantle working parts for refurbishing other computers.

If the machine is end of life or beyond economic repair we recycle and recover the materials. This includes the circuit board, CD/DVD drive, power supply, memory, processor and pc case.

A recycling report/data destruction is produced once the job is complete.

Do you charge a congestion zone fee?

Quite simply…. No ! All of costs are factored in when pricing a collection, such as time, diesel, congestion zone, man hours etc… Our charges are agreed up front and there are no hidden fees.
