PAT Testing Service

Pure Planet Recycling provide the service of PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) to comply with your businesses Health and Safety requirements and the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989). Our simple, reliable and cost effective PAT testing service is being used by customers throughout England.

Regularly checking appliances, equipment and cabling is vital to ensure a safe working environment. Each appliance is comprehensively checked by our trained and qualified staff so that it complies with the IET code of practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. Once it has gone through our PAT testing service it is then labeled accordingly and recorded onto our auditable report and certification.

Any minor faults found during the course of the PAT testing are repaired as we find them and the appliance re-tested. More serious faults found in appliances will be identified and a due course of action advised.

Equipment Needing PAT Testing

Basically any moveable electrical equipment that is connected to the mains supply by a 13A BS1363 plug, BS EN60309-2 industrial plug or hard wired in a fused connection unit needs PAT testing. The IET code states it covers the following equipment:

  • Portable Appliances (Less than 18kg, easily movable eg. Toaster, Heater etc.
  • Moveable Equipment (Less than 18kg and not fixed eg moveable air conditioning unit)
  • Handheld Appliances (Portable hand held equipment eg. Hairdryer, Handheld Mixer)
  • Stationary Equipment or Appliances (More than 18kg with no handle, eg. Washing Machine, Fridge)
  • Fixed Equipment or Appliances (A secured appliance such as a bathroom heater)
  • IT Equipment (Computers, Printers Telephones etc.
  • Extension Leads.
